elevator-speechThough I saw all of the posts come through my inbox last month, I’m just now getting to ProBlogger’s 31 Days to Build a Better Blog series. Since I’m determined to chronicle my progress from student, to recent college graduate, to successful freelance writing company owner — I’ve decided to also chronicle my progress through this series.

For those of you interested in creating or boosting your blog, too, follow along with me by signing up for the series here.

So, Day One, The Elevator Pitch:

Our tag line:

Helping you use words wisely.

The speech:

The Word Trade’s mission is to help small business people share their expertise without coming across as an idiot.

How could that happen?

Easy: poor grammar, a dozen exclamation points where none are needed and a general fear of getting started with blogging, social media or with writing articles for the local media and trade publications. All of these activities are ways small business people can display their knowledge and stake their claim as an expert in their field — and they all involve writing.

That’s where I come in. I can help them — people who really do know their stuff but aren’t confident about their writing skills — develop and manage a social media and in-print publication strategy that will help them broaden their reach to current and potential clients while humanizing them and their company. I can also help them overcome their fear through coaching and practice and by teaching them how to use writing to strengthen their business.

To be successful in business, you have to be a successful relationship builder — everyone knows that. Online, relationships are sparked and fostered with words. Let us help you ensure you’re using yours wisely.
