It’s no secret that we’re evolving, so it shouldn’t be a secret that our logo is evolving, too.
We’d love it if you’d help us out. Ready?
Your feedback means a lot to us, so let us hear from you. If you were designing our logo, or instructing a designer to design our logo, what would you tell him or her? Want to design our logo for us? Maybe we can work out a trade. If you’re interested, contact us at info [@] thewordtrade [.] com.
What do you think of when you hear the words “word” and “trade”? (We keep conjuring images of planes, trains and automobiles.)
What does it mean to evolve– personally, professionally or otherwise? We’re not trying to make a religious statement, we’re just stating a fact: we are ever evolving as a business and as individuals. So, what image comes to mind when you think of those types of evolutions?
We love stars. We can’t seem to break away from the want to include stars in our logo. We’ve thought about using five stars, we’ve thought about flat stars and shiny stars and sparkling stars. We’ve thought about various star shapes. Should we drop the star idea? What do you think? Do they have a place at The Word Trade?
What do you think of this logo? Childish?
Don’t worry about hurting our feelings, we’re ready to embrace the truth from your perspective. Don’t be shy.
Thanks, and thank you for following our progress as we evolve from students to successful freelance writers. We look forward to your logo feedback.
Viva la evolucion.

At first I thought I had read “World Trade” as opposed to “Word Trade” but that’s because I’m always in a hurry!
I love the stars coming off the page–to me, it represents magic coming to life from the page which is exactly what good writing can do.
The girl piece of the logo represents childhood or youth or innocence. So if that’s what your offering in your brand promise, it’s a good image to keep. Otherwise, perhaps there’s an image that better reflects the essence of what people will experience when they interact with The Word Trade.
Which makes me wonder… what is it that you’re offering the world? What is it that will be different from all your competitors?
You’ve pegged the problem(s). I especially thank you for the last two sentences and the star visual.
We are working on defining ourselves in our business plan, so those are questions I’m asking myself hourly– “What is it that we’re offering the world and how are we different?” We do have a lot to offer and are unique, but we need to figure out how to articulate that fact without reciting a list and offering a pinkie swear.
Thank you for your feedback, Kirsty!
The evolution continues.
